A cheap LCD TV will not provide you with the same great quality picture as the more expensive models, but this does not mean that you won’t get decent feature on an inexpensive LCD TV.
Really cheap LCD TVs are the ones that are listed below. Whenever you want to take into consideration all the aspects of a budget minded decision regarding the purchase of an LCD TV – price, size, and resolution – you will be able to choose one of the following models, without having a guilty conscience.
JVC P300 Series
It is only natural to assume that the JVC P300 series does not come with the same amount of perks as other, more expensive models. It does not have 120Hz refresh rate, like Samsung B650, or Sony V5100, but image quality is its true saving grace. Its blacks are on par with those of Samsung B650 – which is more expensive – , but, on the other hand, it only sports 3 HDMI ports, and it does not have any AV inputs. You will still find a PC input on these models, though.

Samsung B460 Series
Among the HDTVs with only 720p resolution, Samsung B460 makes itself noticeable as a good deal. Seeing that it only comes in small screen sizes, this is barely a bother, however. It only has 3 HDMI ports, but it does have a PC input, and its models are often used for gaming. Image quality is on par with that of more expensive Samsung models.

Sony L5000 Series
Another 720p line is Sony L5000. Its connectivity options are decent, with 3 HDMI ports, one AV, and one PC input. Image quality, while not the best in the pack, is considered to be somewhat better than that of Vizio, or LG models. Its refresh rate is 60Hz, but maintaining black levels seems easier for Sony models than for Samsung, when uniformity is concerned.

- 37 inch – Sony KDL-37L5000
LG LH40 Series
Raising its head above other cheap LCD TVs, LG LH40 is noticeable for its 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 4 HDMI ports, all of the above being features more likely to find in a medium range HDTV rather than a low entry one. It does, however, perform better for standard definition sources, than for high definition, and its black levels fall behind Sony or Samsung.

Samsung B360 Series
This 720p line has enjoyed a lot of positive reviews right from its launch, because of the great picture quality it is capable to deliver. What comes short for Samsung B360 is connectivity, that only includes 2 HDMI ports. Its performance is as to be expected from a low entry series, but standard definition sources are displayed really well, making this line a great choice for viewers that do not care much about Blu-ray discs, and high definition performance.

LG LH30 Series
Another release from LG, this series, despite being one of the cheapest (while still considering the decent amount of quality and performance), sports 1080p resolution. LG did cut some corners, however, and LG LH30 does not have 120Hz refresh rate, neither dejudder processing abilities. Connectivity would be quite decent, with 3 HDMI ports, but the absence of an S-video input drags it down.

Panasonic X1
Panasonic X1 series only has 720p resolution, but its connectivity is quite good for a line this cheap, with 3 HDMI ports, one PC input, 2 AVs, and one S-video. When compared with other cheap lines, you will notice that its black levels are lighter than what can be seen on JVC P300, and darker areas do tend to look more bluish than seen in other models, like the one already mentioned, and Sony cheaper models.

Vizio VO320E
This low entry model has only 720p resolution, and its connectivity options are bare bones, with only 2 HDMI. You will find on it, however, all the necessary inputs, like 2 AV inputs, and one for PC. Image quality is saved by accurate, vivid colors, but a little marred by light blacks. Still, Vizio VO320E performs a little better than Panasonic and LG cheap models in this respect. Also, standard definition sources are something that Vizio VO320E handles extremely well, making it a great choice for watching regular broadcasting.

Vizio VA320M
As opposed to the above mentioned LCD TV, this one has 1080p resolution. While it is a bit more expensive, it also offers a little extra performance. Yet, its connectivity options are only bare bones, with 2 HDMI ports, one S-Video input, and one PC input. It only has 60Hz refresh rate, so it cannot be compared with other, more competitive models. As its brother, it is perfectly capable of showing great results as a standard definition performer, but it can also handle high definition sources better.

It is difficult to tell exactly which of these models is best for you, but you can study more their specs, and performance, until you discover the one that fits your budget and your requirements.
